What would Minion's Room be like?

Hey there, hi there, how's it going? It's been a while since I've made my presence known around here, huh? We'll, I'm still around! In case you were wondering, heh. Never really left, I've still been lurking around the site, but I've missed being actively active here. My love for Megamind hasn't died (Honestly, I had fully Megamind-focused dream just the other day), it's just been pushed to the side a tad bit because of college work and the such...

And speaking of college work...I could use your help, everyone! :)

For an up coming project in my Drawing 2 class, we have to choose a fictional character from a (preferably animated) movie, TV show, video game, or graphic novel/illustrated book and fill out a character sheet for them. Then using the information we have, we need to design a room for the character that wasn't seen in the movie/whatever. I think I want to do Minion and his hypothetical "bed room"/"personal room".

I know a lot of people have head canons about Minion and what his room would be like if he had one. It would be really cool if you guys could share them with me so I can use them for some inspiration!

And while your at it, here are some things on the character sheet I could use some discussion on as well, if no one minds -

Who is Minion's biggest enemy?

Is he Dominated by Logic or Emotion?

Greatest Strength?

Minion's Character Flaw?

Minion sees himself as... (This one is obvious but I'm putting it here anyway, for discussion's sake)

How do others see Minion as?

Minion's biggest secret?

Greatest ambition or passion? (Wouldn't that be sewing? Or taking care of Megamind?)

What does Minion want?

How far will Minion go to reach his goal?

What does Minion need to learn?

And on a kind of related note - How heavy do you think Minion is by himself, and how heavy would you think his suit is? And how tall?

I'm not asking you to do my homework, I swear XD Just for some help.

Instead of Minion's bed/personal room, how about doing the lair's kitchen with special Minion touches. Personally, I expect it to be rather rough, cobbled together sort of room. You know, scavenged from whereever they could find/steal things. But other's have speculated a state-of-the-art, professional chef's type of kitchen. If you do a kitchen, you might want to make a point to give it a distinct lack of seating room. Just one chair since only Megamind would sit. Minion has his suit, which is too heavy for a chair and doesn't tire out. He doesn't need a chair.

Or maybe Minion's pool or large aquarium room.

Those are very good ideas! I like the idea of a kitchen with the lack of chairs a lot. But I'm not sure it shows enough proof in the movie to have people believe Minion is such the cook we like to think he is? I'm just considering for the people in my class that aren't Megamind fans. There's more solid evidence showing he likes to sew, that's why I was kind of leaning towards a personal room, or I guess it would be a work room? -Where I could show a sewing machine and some fabric and works in progress.

Or you could do a brainbot storage room with rack upon rack of brainbots on shelves. That might be a fun excercise in 2 or 3-point perspective. A chance to show just a massive interrior space, fading into gloom before it reaches the back wall. Dim and gloomy with faintly glowing bots crouched on industerial shelving. Could be very cool to draw.

Then your character sheet could be a brainbot.

His suit is heavy. Too heavy for most chairs.

He might have a spare suit in the corner, if you do a bedroom.

His sewing area is already shown in the movie.

Is it? It's been a while since I've watched it, are you referring to the part where he's fitting Megamind with the Black Mamba? Or a different part I'm sadly forgetting about?

Yeah, that. When he's fitting Megamind for The Black Mamba.

Or you could do Metro Man's kitchen. :)

(Off-topic, I guess, but I'd love to know what Roxanne's kitchen area looks like. I've got this nagging feeling about it, like it's right there, like we went right past it when Megs came in, but we never quite got to see it.)
(Megamind's bedroom would also be interesting, I think, but headcanons seem to differ on whether or not he even has one, or if he just sleeps on a sofa.)
I imagine a major feature of Minion's personal room would be a huge fish tank where he could really stretch his fins. I mean when you think about it, he spends what seems like an uncomfortable amount of time just treading water in his suit. That can't be natural, unless his species lived in tide pools or something... Hmm...

(I have that same feeling, like it's right off camera and if we were there in the movie it would be in our peripheral vision) (At first I was going to do Megamind's room but then I'd thought I'd rather do a supporting character. Most all that we see of the evil Lair could be classified as "Megamind's", so I thought it would be cool to do something that was completely Minions, and that Minion's character and appearance would be cool to work off of.)

True, that should be a very important feature, I agree. Maybe it would be cool if I have a huge tank in the place of where a bed would be in an normal bedroom, maybe not in the exact shape but enough to get the idea across? Because I suppose if Minion DID have a bed separate from the little fish castle in his gorilla suit, it would be kind of like that.

You could make it a water bed! Get it? Yeah.... okay...

You can see it if you step through the scene where Hal is talking to her on her balcony. I used one of those shots (with a bit of tweaking) for a fanart piece for Being Normal. The one I chose didn't show much of the kitchen, but there are frames that do show it better. You should be able to find a decent shot if you have a high-def TV.

Oh yeah, I believe I've seen the picture. (Totally intend to read Being Normal, too, just haven't had much energy what with this stupid cold I've been recuperating from.)

Thanks so much for pointing that out! I don't have access to the TV at the moment, but I'll go frame-by-frame with my computer version. Hopefully I'll see be able to make it out.

Well we do see Minion in a small apartment during the movie(Tighten is evil brodcast scene). I think Minion's apartment is pretty bare, a simple TV, a desktop that at lest 7 years old, a bookcase made of stolen milk crates that contain mainly old Martha Stewart magazines, and nick knacks that Minion finds cute, a selection of fabrics and back-up copies of all the articals of Megamind from the newspapers (and a couple of kiddie photos that both of them swear don't exist)tucked into the closet. Also I think that Minion might have a larger tank in the torso of the suit that he goes into when he wants to sleep.
